The Midnight Organ Spectacle - Three Sets of Feet on the Pedals
Organists Jimi Järvinen – Ilpo Laspas – Francesco Cardelli
Ilpo Laspas 21:00–21:50
Jimi Järvinen 22:00–22:50
Francesco Cardelli 23:00–23:50
An evening with three star organists, each presenting their own solo programme, culminating in a spectacular midnight joint performance. This concert showcases the organ’s remarkable versatility — from grandeur to intimacy and brilliant virtuosity — in a way that can only be experienced live.
Ilpo Laspas’ programme features brilliant transcriptions and original works by Antonio Vivaldi, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Oskar Merikanto. Although not all of these pieces were originally written for organ, they suit the instrument perfectly.
Jimi Järvinen has selected a programme of impressive works by great masters such as Joseph Bonnet, Louis Vierne, Marcel Dupré, and Paul Dukas. His set concludes with Dukas’ famous The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (L'apprenti sorcier).
Francesco Cardelli, who studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW) and performs actively across Europe, presents a programme featuring Maurice Duruflé's three-movement Suite, as well as works by Marco Enrico Bossi and Ottorino Respighi. The evening concludes with one of Franz Liszt’s most renowned organ works, Fantasy and Fugue on the Theme B.A.C.H., composed in 1855.
There will be short breaks of approximately 10 minutes between each performance.
