Pasi Hyökki, choir director
YL Male Voice Choir is a Finnish pioneer of male voice choral music, performing actively in Finland and around the world. YL is the Finland’s oldest Finnish language choir, now 140-year-old. The choir celebrates its anniversary with a tour around Finland in autumn. The jubilee programme will be heard in the Helsinki metropolitan area only at the Organ Night and Aria Festival.
The diverse and colourful repertoire consists of songs by Robert Kajanus, Jean Sibelius, Juuso Vanonen, Selim Palmgren, Machael Ostrzyga, Eero Grundström, Toivo Kuula, Gösta Sundqvist and Leevi Madetoja, among others. The concert will be spiced up with video installations.
